Ambassadors Circle
The Ambassadors Circle brings together experienced art collectors who want to share their knowledge and experience with a new generation of collectors. These ambassadors have a strong network within the art world and have built compelling collections over the years. Their involvement goes beyond collecting alone: they connect people, institutions and ideas.
Saving the art world, one artwork at a time
Martijn and Jeannette Sanders, Ambassadors since 2020We became ambassadors because we want to help a new generation get interested in collecting art.
Collecting art is more than filling the empty wall above the sofa. By buying art, collectors not only invest in artists financially, but also generate attention for new artists and new art forms. Collectors play a crucial part in the ecosystem of the arts and often support artists long before they are discovered by major institutions. The Collectors Circle activates a new generation of motivated and informed collectors to support the art sector: sustainably and bottom-up.

Privileges
Ambassadors are invited to at least four dedicated events each year, including a dinner at a special location, a lunch during Amsterdam Art Week or Gallery Weekend and an inspiring gathering during Art Rotterdam. Ambassadors may bring up to four guests.
Perks
As an ambassador, you enjoy unlimited and priority access to all weekly events organised by The Collectors Circle, alongside four exclusive Ambassadors gatherings each year. Previous programmes have included studio visits with artists such as Luc Tuymans and Laure Prouvost, as well as visits with three artists who are nominated for this year’s Prix de Rome. Ambassadors also have access to The Collectors Circle Travel, Socials and Academy activities.
Unlimited access to all programmes of The Collectors Circle
The Collectors Circle organises a curated annual programme with at least 75 activities. The selection is deliberately expansive: you choose where and when you want to take part, at no additional cost. This allows you to make your own personalised plan, guided by your interests and schedule. The programme includes 10 visits to national and international art fairs with a combined ticket value of over €150, 10 studio visits with artists who are currently relevant and 6 collection visits to private collectors, companies and museums. In addition, we organise 10 gallery tours, 7 artist talks and guided visits at new and lesser-known art spaces and 3 art walks that explore a city through public art.
There is also plenty of room for deeper engagement. You can take part in 10 online and offline masterclasses and talk shows on the art market, current trends and art history. We also take you behind the scenes at auction houses and museum depots. Finally, we visit 10 graduation shows and residencies, where you are introduced early to new talent and organise 4 socials, including networking events and the annual New Year or end-of-year gathering.

Cultural ANBI – Tax benefit
Your support of the Ambassadors Circle (part of Foundation Art Projects Amsterdam) will give you a tax benefit, because Art Projects Amsterdam has the status of Cultural ANBI. If you commit yourself for at least 5 years to a periodic donation (e.g. through Ambassadors Circle or a gift to Stiching Art Projects), there is a fiscally attractive multiplier of 1.25. This means that your gift is 125% tax deductible.
Example calculation for an annual contribution of €500 per year:
*€500 x 40.8% = €204 is the net amount that is tax deductible
€500 – €204 = €296 is the net amount you pay on your contribution
Example calculation for a periodic contribution (minimum five years) of €500 per year:
€500 x 125% = €625
€625 x 40.8% = €255 is the net amount tax deductible
€500 – €255 = €245 is the net amount you pay on your contribution
We use the income from the Ambassadors Circle to fund our public program, introducing over 300 artists each year to a large audience of over 25,000 art lovers.
